Reveal time. Cheers!!! I am so happy that I was able to squeeze in a space for myself this year. This was a much need update for my primary bedroom. I had lofty ideas of trim in the beginning and quickly figured out that was not going to look good. However I knew that this room could be beautiful non the less. I wanted to go from a dark gloomy paint that I didn’t choose, whew was it ugly, to something bright but not white. Typically I walk that neutral line but have wanted color in my bedroom for a very long time.

Let’s take a look at my new bomb room.

First I love the chandelier, it is the Nova fixture by Troy Lighting. It comes in black however I felt gold would fit the space better. Don’t be afraid to buy something you love and then adapt it to your needs. I hung the light first made sure it was completely functional and worked in the space and then took it down and spray painted it. Leaving the rope detail black to tie into my curtain hardware.

My dresser is a old dresser I purchased at a vintage store. I painted it to resale it 9 years ago, but then I kept it. Originally it was supposed to be painted Sherwin Williams Leather Brown in High Gloss, but that turned into a Pumpkin box and not right for the space. So a quick sand and then I threw it back to the good ole days of chalk paint. I just didn’t go heavy on the sanding and kept it light. The hardware is from Home Depot purchased 9 years ago.

My bed my lovely upholstered bed is actually darker in person and that is how I prefer it. It’s tall and plush and big. I have always slept in a King bed during my adult life. And for realz your girl stretches all across that thing.

My nightstands don’t match but that will only be for another week or two until my second Crate and Barrel Oasis side table gets here. Friends I love Crate and Barrel they are one of my favorite companies to shop at. I currently want their Bar glasses….ALL OF THEM. This table is incredibly heavy. Gabe has to help me move it. I’m clumsy and that’s no secret so the marble top is perfect for my Oooopsies. I spill everything

My babies, the jewelry, the showstoppers are my sconces. Triple Seven Home is the modern lighting gurus. They are local to my State of Florida so of course I went with them. These lights are beautiful add the perfect amount of modern chic to keep my room feeling young. Plus hello green is my favorite color and the way these shades look against the wall color which is SW Paper Lantern at 75% strength and the dark headboard makes me smile. Everytime I walk into this room I am so happy.

Recently I decided to move my work are to my room. Because I am obsessed with outdoors and who wouldn’t want to work and look at a garden all day. However my old desk is huge and just collected junk. So I wanted something that could get to me quickly and was inexpensive that I could dress up. My friends that desk is from Walmart. The hardware was not pretty but a quick tap of the keys and Rejuvenation saved the day. I updated the knobs with the unlacquered brass hexagon knobs and instantly the piece looks so much better. I also ordered unlacquered brass wheels so I could move my desk easily. Sadly they sent me the incorrect size. Again don’t be scared to update the norm and make it great. Sure by the time I added the knobs and feet I could have purchased antique/vintage but I was not up for the hunt.

Shear curtains are my love language right now. I want to change my entire house to shears. You get the privacy without blocking out the light. Light is so important to me and this space gets the prettiest light. Having shears just made it feel romantic and not to heavy. I am a Florida girl give me all the light and sunrays.

My desk chair may not be the most functional but it sure is pretty to look at and I love those legs. I purchased it a couple months ago from CB2 and I am happy I did b/c they no longer carry it.

So if you follow me on IG you know we discovered some shotty drywall. Fun times so guess what I get to do here in a couple weeks. Take my lights down then the guys get to hang new stronger drywall, fix were we have like extra crap in the wall and rewire. Yay!!! Not so much I want to be mad and cry but I will be okay. While you on IG you can see a video walk thru of this room before. It ain’t cute at all. Honestly I’m surprised I made it this long with the former look.

So I received my lights really late in the game b/c hello everything is pushed back that has to made, therefore I didn’t schedule a photographer because I knew I would be cutting it close. As soon as the drywall is repaired and lights rehung we will have my girl come out and properly take some pics.

I hope that you have checked out some other Guest Participants in the ORC So many talented designs have been shared. Thank you OneRoomChallenge and BHG for hosting this fun event.
