So who is a little late to week 3 party I am I am. Week 3 was a long work week and I could not catch up to save my life. That’s okay I am here now and guess what finally it has happen to me and I just cannot hide it. Sherwin Williams had paint folks. So I was able to get my hands on 3 gallons of the Duration paint line and man was I relieved. I know your like umm it’s a paint store they have paint. We’ll because so many folks are still home and building home offices or redecorating some stores have been selling out. For instance my local store has not had sample pots for a couple months and have had to sell quart sizes at 50% off so that we could have samples. That just blows my mind. We live 8 miles from Fleming Island, Fl and there are so so so many country clubs and golf course communities there. With house in between that entire 8 miles. Poor store was getting hit hard.

I settled on Paper Lantern at 75% strength. It’s a nice butter color. I never thought I would have a yellowish room but here I am living on the edge. On to furniture.

The other thing that finally happened is I choose a nightstand. Technically it is a side table but was the height and width I wanted. I originally ordered 2 Serena & Lily tables but was worried they would be to low. I am not a low to the ground furniture girl. I am 5’9″ and when I lean over at night I don’t want to reach down for my water (whiskey). I wanted a mix of old new furniture in my room. So my dresser is from the 50’s and is a serpentine dresser I have had since I moved here. She will be getting painted a shade lighter than my walls. REAL monochromatic for the most part here folks. TONE on TONE with bright art and wallpaper. Then I have for my writing desk a cute Walmart piece and we go over that later. Because my dresser is older and I have traditional wallpaper panels, I thought to myself to keep the room fresh I needed more modern night stands. Check out some of the options I looked at. The gorgeous stone and wood option above from Crate and Barrel is the one I went with. I actually only chose one because I wasn’t sure how I would love it once I received it. I am going to DIY my current night stand to have the body match my dresser and a little faux stone to match the new one. However if I love it the way I think I am I will purchase another one. I truly am a matching side table kind of girl. I am excited about the Crate and Barrel option it’s light wood is the correct option for my wall paint choice and the stone top for my clumsiness. I told myself if I found modern nightstands then I could keep my dresser and if I fell in love with a traditional nightstand I would have to give up my dresser. Having a mix of styles was high on the list of priorities. In the past I have always had sets and well I didn’t want a showroom. I want somethings that speaks to my grandma soul but has some updated flavor.
